For those that don’t know what a Jet Card is and how it works, it’s simply prepaid flight hours at a fixed or cap rate with guaranteed availability. But that guarantee of reliability can be somewhat ambiguous. Now Allied Jet will be offering a new 2026 reliability innovation for private jet cards.
First, some Private Jet card basics. How much do Jet cards typically cost is an often asked question for first time customers. The answer is Jet Cards are sold at a fixed dollar amount for a total number of flight time hours. Usually, the prepaid hours start at 25 at a cost of approximately $200,000. Sometimes an account can be created for as little as $100,000 with monthly payments or other membership options.
Another common question is who exactly is selling Jet Cards? The short answer is just about anybody looking to capitalize on this trend is marketing and selling them. From operators who own and operate (Direct Carriers) or those who manage a fleet of aircraft, to Brokers who act as third-party advisors on behalf of the client.
Some of the benefits of a Jet Card versus an On Demand Charter is that it gives you the flexibility to buy at fixed rates that offer predictability of costs. As opposed to the trending prices and market dynamics of an On-Demand Charter.
Now each has its pros and cons which may suit one individual customer’s needs over another. Additionally, Jet Cards are set to the category of aircraft such as light size, midsize, super mid or heavy jets. They do not offer you the flexibility of different size aircraft needs that may present themselves when flying. (smaller airports, longer distances, more passengers etc.).
Beyond that, many Jet Cards have restrictions such as peak time surcharges and blackout dates which are a disadvantage over an On Demand charter. But perhaps the biggest issue is that most Jet Cards are nonrefundable, expire, and can’t roll over. This can create a potentially stressful situation for a customer, especially if they aren’t happy with the quality of the product.
To simplify this considering all these nuances and headaches that new or even experienced flyers face, Allied Jet is bringing something innovative to the Jet Card marketplace. This will offer customers the flexibility to book on any category size of aircraft at any time with transparency and confidence. All flights will provide full FAA Part 295 compliance and a fixed management fee. This new innovation gives fliers the transparency on carriers and pricing not seen in the Private Jet Card market to date.
